RCR Summer Workshop (Register by April 12)

The RCR Summer Workshop was born in 2008 from a humanist spirit in which different creative disciplines generate synergies for mutual enrichment. The Architecture and Landscape Workshop was joined in 2013 by the Photography and Audiovisual Workshop, the Scenography Workshop in 2016 and the Dance Workshop in 2019.

More than a thousand professionals and students from all over the world have participated in these workshops where the professional practice is combined with theory, experience and research, creativity and transversality, condensing complex processes in a limited time, of shared creativity to encourage the capacity for dialogue and an experience derived from observation and participation.

Registration is open until 12 April for the 17th edition of the RCR Summer Workshop. 

The workshops in Olot focused on understanding architecture and landscape from a multidisciplinary approach under the direction of RCR Arquitectes, winners of the 2017 Pritzker Prize. In this edition we will deepen interdisciplinarity, integrating in the Architecture and Landscape workshop groups participants from the Photography and Audiovisual workshops who will bring to their projects the ability to communicate it with suggestive images that convey atmospheres and intentions.

Architecture and Landscape Workshop
The aim is to understand, by trying it out, the inseparable link between architecture and place, landscape and culture, sharing and creating, putting into practice the working methods of RCR Arquitectes in the same territory and space of their work.

In this edition, we will delve into interdisciplinarity, integrating participants in the Photography and Audiovisual workshops into the groups who will contribute to the projects with their ability to communicate suggestive images that transmit atmospheres and intentions.

Photography Workshop
The aim is to expand theoretical and practical knowledge about photography in the representation of space and architecture, starting from the approach to the work of RCR Arquitectes and the photography of Hisao Suzuki. The exercises combine reflection on the work process and its implementation from a conscious approach to space and everything that surrounds us, thus contributing to the awakening of the senses and stimulating the creation of communicative, adaptable images to the new digital formats and social media trends, and that make us experience, want to touch, listen and be in this place.

In this edition, we will deepen interdisciplinarity, integrating into the groups of the Architecture and Landscape workshops participants from the Photography and Audiovisual workshops who will contribute to their projects the ability to communicate this with suggestive images that convey atmospheres and intentions.

Audiovisual Workshop
The aim is to expand the theoretical and practical knowledge of the audiovisual language in the representation, capture and explanation of space and architecture. We will start with an approach to the work of RCR Arquitectes, sharing with Hisao Suzuki his way of approaching photography and considering composition. Then, we will delve into the rest of the aspects of audiovisual expression: narration, rhythm, sonority, etc.

In this edition, we will deepen interdisciplinarity, integrating into the groups of the Architecture and Landscape workshops participants from the Photography and Audiovisual workshops who will contribute to their projects the ability to communicate this with suggestive images that convey atmospheres and intentions.
